In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves. Then, when the latter (final) promise came, they (your enemies) will sadden your faces, and to enter the Masjid (in Jerusalem), as they entered it the first time, and will destroy what they had taken over with (total) destruction (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Children and the elderly, the young and the weak, are dying one after another, victims of famine. Hundreds, if not thousands, await a looming “tsunami” of death, their bodies collapsing under the weight of famine, unable to carry them further. They suffer from fifth-degree malnutrition, catastrophic famine, while the world waits for a spark of humanity to awaken and rescue what’s left from the jaws of starvation deliberately imposed by the criminal occupation in a calculated effort to crush the will of an entire people in full view of the international community. Hundreds of documented stories, captured in sound and image, speak of the most horrific humanitarian massacre in modern history. While UN warnings continue to sound the alarm over the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, the numbers tell a grim reality: starvation has become a deadly policy targeting both children and adults under a tightened siege and a systematic blockade of food and medicine. Recent UN data reveals that over one million children in Gaza face the threat of hunger, with warnings of rapidly rising rates of acute malnutrition. According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), children are the most vulnerable and severely affected by the crisis, as aid is unable to reach most areas of Gaza due to Israel’s strict military restrictions. UNICEF has said that hunger has become a “terrifying reality” threatening the lives of hundreds of thousands of children. Over 70,000 children in Gaza are suffering from acute malnutrition, with more than 5,000 under the age of five officially diagnosed in May alone. The agency warned that Gaza is facing a systematic starvation policy imposed by Israel, which has so far resulted in 86 recorded deaths from hunger, 76 of them children, and those numbers are expected to rise amid the lack of therapeutic nutrition and the ongoing siege. Field reports have also documented heartbreaking cases of infants dying after surviving for days on herbal drinks alone, due to the lack of baby formula and essential food for nursing mothers. The World Food Program estimates that one-third of Gaza’s population has gone without food for consecutive days, and a quarter are living in famine-like conditions, further weakening children’s health and pushing them to the edge of danger. The World Health Organization has warned that the crisis could escalate rapidly if food and medical aid are not allowed in immediately. It confirmed that over 100,000 children and pregnant women in Gaza are suffering from critical levels of malnutrition, placing their lives in constant danger. Israel stands accused of using starvation as a weapon. International organizations, including Amnesty International, have documented evidence pointing to a systematic campaign to starve the civilian population, a blatant violation of international law and a crime of genocide. Amid the absence of any political solution or meaningful international intervention, the suffering of Gaza’s children deepens, while the world continues to issue empty appeals. As images emerge of emaciated children, or those taking their final breaths in their mothers’ arms, the cries of hunger in Gaza grow louder than the world’s silence, and more devastating than any speech. *** UNRWA warns people in Gaza, including its staff, are fainting from extreme hunger GAZA, July 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that people in Gaza, including UNRWA colleagues, are fainting due to severe hunger. “They are being starved.” In a post on X, UNRWA renewed its call to lift the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip and allow the entry of humanitarian aid to end the famine, stating: “Lift the siege. Allow UNRWA to bring in food and medicines.” It added: “UNRWA alone has thousands of trucks in neighbouring countries waiting to enter Gaza – banned by Israeli Authorities from entering since March.” The agency confirmed that people, including children, are dying due to acute malnutrition. “The siege must be lifted now to allow our lifesaving humanitarian aid in,” said UNRWA. Y.S. *** American doctor: Hunger has reached horrific level in Gaza Wednesday 23-July-2025 GAZA, (PIC) American doctor Noor Sharaf, currently in the Gaza Strip, has warned in a statement on Wednesday that hunger in the enclave has reached a horrific level. Speaking from Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Sharaf said that the current situation in Gaza is unlike anything she has ever witnessed. She confirmed that the emergency department has no space to receive the wounded, who are being treated on the floor of the hospital. She said that doctors are working long hours that exceed their scheduled shifts, without access to food. She added, “We see people who haven’t eaten for several days collapsing from hunger.” Since the beginning of last March, Israeli occupation forces have imposed a strict siege and closure of the crossings into Gaza, preventing thousands of trucks loaded with food, humanitarian and medical aid from entering, which has worsened the humanitarian situation in the Strip. The famine has intensified over the past few weeks in light of the absence of aid and people’s inability to obtain flour and the most basic necessities of life. In the last 24 hours, 10 residents of Gaza died due to famine and malnutrition, raising the total number of famine-related deaths since October 7, 2023, to 111. *** Amnesty International: Palestinians in Gaza facing mass starvation amid aid blockade RAMALLAH, July 23, 2025 (WAFA) – Amnesty International has warned that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing mass starvation, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, along with the unhindered entry and distribution of humanitarian aid. In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, the organization condemned the Israeli military for blocking aid deliveries, bombing shelters, and using food, water, and medicine as weapons of war. Earlier today, More than 100 international humanitarian organizations have called on governments around the world to immediately open all land crossings into Gaza, restore full access to food, clean water, medical supplies, shelter materials, and fuel, and to support a UN-led humanitarian mechanism, alongside an immediate and lasting ceasefire. The appeal comes exactly two months after the launch of the Israeli-controlled “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” which aid groups say has failed to ensure proper aid delivery. The Norwegian Refugee Council had previously announced that its aid stocks in Gaza had been completely depleted, noting that some of its staff were themselves suffering from hunger. It directly accused Israel of paralyzing the organization's work and preventing it from fulfilling its humanitarian role. Y.S. *** 111 humanitarian organizations urge immediate action to open all Gaza crossings, end Israeli siege RAMALLAH, July 23, 2025 (WAFA, PIC) – 111 international humanitarian organizations have called on governments around the world to immediately open all land crossings into Gaza, restore full access to food, clean water, medical supplies, shelter materials, and fuel, and to support a UN-led humanitarian mechanism, alongside an immediate and lasting ceasefire. In a joint statement issued Wednesday, humanitarian organizations said that aid workers are now standing in food lines, risking gunfire, just to feed their families, while the Israeli government's blockade continues to starve Gaza's population. Organizations report witnessing the rapid physical deterioration of colleagues and partners, as aid supplies run critically low. One humanitarian worker summed up the desperation: "Every morning in Gaza, people ask the same question—will I get to eat today?" The statement highlights the near-daily massacres at food distribution points. According to UN figures, as of July 13, 875 Palestinians had been killed while searching for food — 201 on aid routes and the rest at distribution centers, with thousands more injured. Meanwhile, Israeli forces have forcibly displaced nearly 2 million exhausted Palestinians, with the last mass evacuation order issued on July 20, confining the population to less than 12 percent of Gaza's territory. The World Food Programme (WFP) has warned that the current conditions make humanitarian operations "unsustainable" and reiterated that starvation as a weapon of war constitutes a war crime. Despite massive stocks of aid sitting undelivered both inside and outside Gaza, organizations say distribution is blocked by Israeli-imposed restrictions, delays, and fragmentation. "These obstacles have created chaos, hunger, and death," the statement says. One mental health worker described the trauma among children: "Kids are telling their parents they want to go to heaven—because at least there's food there." Medical professionals are reporting unprecedented rates of acute malnutrition, particularly among children and the elderly, along with outbreaks of diarrhea, piles of uncollected waste, and people collapsing in the streets from starvation and dehydration. On average, only 28 aid trucks enter Gaza daily — a fraction of what is needed for over 2 million people, many of whom have received no aid for weeks. The groups firmly reject the claim that the UN-led humanitarian system has failed. "It hasn’t failed — it has been deliberately obstructed," the statement declares. Humanitarian agencies have both the capacity and resources to deliver on a large scale, but access remains systematically denied, even to their own starving and exhausted staff. The organizations also criticized recent announcements from Israel and the EU on expanding aid access. “These promises of ‘progress’ ring hollow in the absence of real change,” the statement says. “Every day without sustained aid flow means more deaths — from preventable disease, from starvation, from shattered hope.” The statement emphasized that the people of Gaza are caught in a cycle of hope and despair, waiting for aid or ceasefire announcements only to awaken to even worse conditions. “This isn’t just a physical ordeal — it’s psychological torture,” the groups warned. Y.S. *** 111 humanitarian organizations call for an end to war and famine in Gaza Wednesday 23-July-2025 GAZA, (PIC) 111 humanitarian and human rights organizations urged world governments to impose an immediate and permanent ceasefire and lift all restrictions on humanitarian aid flowing into Gaza to alleviate the widespread famine among its residents. In a joint statement, international organizations including Mercy Corps, Refugees International (both based in the US), and the Norwegian Refugee Council warned of mass famine across the Gaza Strip, while tons of food, clean water, medical supplies, and other essential materials remain stockpiled outside the territory, with humanitarian groups barred from entering or delivering aid. The statement noted that while the Israeli government’s blockade is starving Gaza’s population, aid workers are now queuing for food themselves and risking gunfire just to feed their families. It added, “The restrictions imposed by the Israeli government, along with delays and fragmentation under the comprehensive blockade, have created conditions of chaos, famine, and death.” The organizations called on the world governments to lift all bureaucratic and administrative restrictions, open all land crossings, ensure unrestricted access to all areas of Gaza, reject aid distribution controlled by the Israeli military, and restore a “principled humanitarian response led by the United Nations.” The statement also urged all countries to take concrete measures to end the blockade, including halting arms and ammunition transfers to Israel. The Norwegian Refugee Council stated on Tuesday that aid stocks in Gaza had been completely depleted, and some of its staff are now starving. It accused Israel of paralyzing its operations.
*** UN official reiterates call for Gaza ceasefire as ‘nightmare of historic proportions’ unfolds NEW YORK, July 23, 2025 (WAFA) - A senior UN official on Wednesday urged the Security Council to push for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, warning that the war has become “a nightmare of historic proportions.” Khalid Khiyari, Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific, made the remarks during the UN Security Council’s quarterly open debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the question of Palestine. The Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East told ministers and ambassadors that ongoing talks must lead to a permanent end to hostilities, the release of all hostages, unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid, and for recovery and reconstruction to begin. He noted that at least 1,891 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since 30 June, according to figures from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, including 294 people reportedly killed while attempting to collect aid near militarized distribution points. Evacuation orders continue to force repeated displacement, while food insecurity and malnutrition are worsening despite a limited uptick in the entry of humanitarian supplies, he added. He painted a grim picture of conditions on the ground, citing expanded Israeli military operations, particularly in Dair El-Bala'h, which have led to further mass displacement. He added that UN premises were also struck, hampering humanitarian operations and exacerbating the already dire situation. Khiyari condemned the Israeli strike on the Catholic Church of the Holy Family in Gaza City on July 17, which killed three and injured several others. The strike forced the evacuation of roughly 600 Palestinians, including children and persons with special needs, who had been sheltering there. Since 9 July, Israel has allowed limited fuel deliveries through the Karm Abu Salim crossing, after 130 days of a full blockade. However, the amount is “a fraction of what is required to run essential life-saving services in Gaza, where nearly every aspect of life depends on fuel,” Khiyari warned. Turning to the occupied West Bank, Khiyari reported high levels of violence, including deadly Israeli military operations and attacks by colonial settlers on Palestinians. He noted that the Palestinian Authority (PA) is facing a severe fiscal crisis, with $2.7 billion in withheld clearance revenues, crippling its ability to pay salaries and provide basic services. “Unless urgently addressed, the deterioration of the PA’s fiscal and institutional situation could have catastrophic consequences, undermining the significant progress made over many years to build up Palestinian institutions,” he warned, urging immediate international support. Khiari concluded by reiterating that only a revived political process towards the two-State solution can deliver a sustainable solution. “Our goal is clear: realizing the vision of two States – Israel and a viable and sovereign Palestinian State of which Gaza is an integral part – living side by side in peace and security within secure and recognized borders, on the basis of the pre-1967 lines, with Jerusalem as the capital of both States,” he said. T.R. *** ****** Gaza death toll reaches 59,219 since start of Israeli aggression in October 2023 GAZA, June 26, 2025 (WAFA PIC) - The death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 59,219, the majority of whom were women and children, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in October 2023. At least 143,045 others have also been injured. Medical sources confirmed that of the total casualties, 8,363 civilians have been killed and 31,004 have been injured since March 18, 2025, when the Israeli occupation resumed its aggression on the Gaza Strip after breaking the ceasefire agreement. Sources stated that 113 bodies, including 13 bodies that were covered from under rubble, and 534 injured individuals were brought to hospitals in Gaza during the past 24 hours. It reported that 34 aid seekers were killed and more than 644 others were injured in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of aid seekers killed by Israeli forces in aid distribution areas and transported to hospitals to 1,060, with more than 7,207 others injured. This toll remains incomplete, as many victims remain trapped under rubble, inaccessible to ambulance and rescue crews. T.R. *** Israeli occupation army kills, injures dozens of Palestinians in Gaza, amid ongoing genocide Wednesday 23-July-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli occupation army continued, last night and on Wednesday, to carry out deadly attacks on different areas of the Gaza Strip, killing and injuring dozens of civilians. According to local media sources, Israeli forces also continued today to detonate and bomb more homes and displace families in the Gaza Strip, further deepening the dire humanitarian crisis as the population grapples with worsening famine. According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in Gaza, Israeli attacks have continued across the Gaza Strip, including an attack that killed four people near a US-backed aid distribution site in the Wadi Gaza area. An Israeli airstrike claimed the life of one citizen and injured others near the bombed 'Ain Jalout apartment buildings in Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in central Gaza. Meanwhile, a medical source said that 14 civilians were martyred in separate Israeli attacks in Khan Younus, south of Gaza, including six in Bani Suhayla and four near an aid distribution point. The bodies of six martyrs were evacuated today from al-Baraka area in Dair El-Bala'h City in central Gaza. A citizen was killed and another suffered injuries in a drone strike near the bombed Al-Aybaki Mosque in Gaza City’s Al-Daraj neighborhood. An Israeli warplane also targeted an apartment belonging to the family of Al-Sha'ir near Al-Fala'h Mosque in Gaza City’s Tel El-Hawa neighborhood, killing eight civilians, including an infant. Journalist Wala Al-Ja'bari, her husband Amjad Al--Sha'ir and her five children were among the victims. The Israeli army also launched attacks on other areas of the Gaza Strip last night and today, killing and wounding more civilians, including children and women. Meanwhile, several Palestinians in Gaza were pronounced dead after they succumbed to injuries they sustained in recent attacks. On Tuesday, Israeli attacks in Gaza killed at least 85 civilians, including 31 people seeking humanitarian aid, and injured dozens more, according to local health officials. *** Gaza famine crisis: 10 die from starvation in just 24 hours RAMALLAH, July 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced this afternoon, Wednesday, that 10 people had died due to famine and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours. According to the same sources, at least 25 children have died from hunger-related causes in the last three days alone. The situation is growing more desperate by the hour, with hospitals across Gaza receiving new cases of malnutrition and starvation every moment, the sources warned. An estimated 900,000 children in Gaza are currently suffering from hunger, of whom 70,000 have entered critical stages of malnutrition. They said that the lives of patients with diabetes and kidney disease are at serious risk due to malnutrition and a lack of basic nutrients. Many are experiencing acute medical crises, exacerbated by the ongoing Israeli blockade and systematic deprivation of essential supplies. An estimated 17,000 children are now suffering from severe acute malnutrition. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under five has doubled between March and June as a result of the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip. UNRWA health centers and medical points conducted approximately 74,000 malnutrition tests for children during this period, identifying approximately 5,500 cases of global acute malnutrition and more than 800 cases of severe acute malnutrition. Y.S. *** 15 Palestinians killed in Israeli attack on residential home in western Gaza Wednesday 23-July-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Fifteen Palestinians, including six children and a paramedic, were killed, and several others were wounded on Tuesday evening following an Israeli airstrike that targeted a home in western Gaza City. According to the PIC correspondent, Israeli warplanes struck the home of citizen Radhwan Mushtaha in the northwest of Gaza City. The ambulance that rushed to the scene was then directly targeted, resulting in a high number of fatalities. A journalist and eyewitness described the incident as a major massacre, noting that ambulances were working non-stop to evacuate the wounded, with sirens echoing continuously for an extended time. The targeted home was located adjacent to a full displacement camp housing nearly 100 tents. Israel continues its genocidal war in the Gaza Strip through relentless massacres targeting civilians and aid seekers, alongside a systematic starvation campaign that has intensified since March, following the closure of border crossings and the imposition of a strict blockade on humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave. *** 12 civilians killed, dozens injured in ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza GAZA, July 23, 2025 (WAFA) – At least 12 Palestinian civilians were killed and dozens of others injured today as Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip continues unabated. T.R. *** Israeli occupation forces detain 14 Palestinian workers in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), July 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces detained 14 Palestinian workers today in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) neighborhood of Jabal Al-Mukabbir, under the pretext of "not possessing permits." The workers were seeking work and a decent livelihood for their families. In recent months, hundreds of Palestinian workers have been subjected to detentions and abuse by Israeli police within the 1948 territories, or by the Israeli occupation forces in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), under the pretext of "not possessing permits." Palestinian workers who do hold permits also suffer when heading to their workplaces. Their day begins very early before dawn, and they wait for hours at occupation military checkpoints, where they undergo abusive inspection procedures before continuing on their way to work. More than 150,000 workers from the West Bank have lost their jobs within the 1948 territories due to Israeli restrictions imposed on workers' access to workplaces since October 2023, according to a World Bank report. The vote marked the final item on the agenda before the Knesset's summer recess. The proposal passed with a majority of 71 votes in favor and only 13 against. Members of all coalition parties voted in support, including lawmakers from the ultra-Orthodox Shas party, which recently withdrew from the government. The decision came as part of a “proposal on the agenda” initiated by right-wing Knesset members Simcha Rothman, Orit Strock, Dan Illouz, and Oded Forer, which was approved by the Knesset Presidency on Monday. This move comes as part of the Israeli far-right’s efforts to solidify the status quo in the West Bank through new legislative measures, following the current government’s intensified colonial settlement projects and actions aimed at annexing large parts of the West Bank. Although the statement is symbolic and non-binding, its sponsors are urging the government to take steps to implement sovereignty over the West Bank, with backing from members of both the coalition and opposition. On July 19, 2024, the International Court of Justice affirmed Israel’s Unlawful Presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. In Bethlehem, Israeli forces stormed the Jabel Al-Ruwaisat area of Al-Wallaja village and bulldozed agricultural roads and fences, which had been rehabilitated recently. Meanwhile, the IOF handed citizens demolition orders against three structures in the village, including an inhabited house and a bakery, under the pretext of unlicensed construction. The IOF also stormed the village of Jaba' in southern Bethlehem and demolished a car wash and an auto body shop. Chief of the village of Jaba' council Dthiyab Masha'lah said that the Israeli occupation army also intends to demolish a kindergarten and a municipal building. In Ramallah, the IOFs stormed Al-Khalayil area of Al-Mughayyir village and bulldozed four tents and three homes, displacing several families. Recently, a horde of Jewish settlers escorted by soldiers burned a vast tract of agricultural land belonging to local residents between the villages of Al-Mughayyir and Abu Fala'h. In the southeast of Jerusalem, a group of settlers went on the rampage through an agricultural facility and farmland belonging to the Shakirat family. Local sources said that settlers attacked sheep, destroyed a tractor, and smashed windows of the facility and its contents, including solar panels, security cameras and the perimeter fence. It said that a group of the illegal Israeli settlers stormed the facility, scattered livestock, smashed a tractor, shattered window glass, destroyed solar panels, surveillance cameras, and a protective fence, and damaged animal feed supplies. The governorate stated that this attack is part of an escalating pattern of colonist violence targeting Palestinian residents in the area. A few days ago, colonists physically assaulted a local farmer, while Israeli forces continue to impose restrictions, issue fines, and detain residents while they were attending their own-land. It further held the Israeli occupation fully responsible, accusing them of supporting colonists and covering up their crimes. It further noted that the Jerusalem desert region is being targeted by systematic colonial plans aimed at displacing its residents. Y.S. *** *** News Related to the Israeli Genocidal War on the Palestinian People *** Amnesty International: Palestinians in Gaza facing mass starvation amid aid blockade RAMALLAH, July 23, 2025 (WAFA) – Amnesty International has warned that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing mass starvation, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, along with the unhindered entry and distribution of humanitarian aid. Y.S. *** Starvation as a weapon of genocide in Gaza: Testimonies and evidenceWednesday 23-July-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Israeli occupation authorities have imposed a suffocating and comprehensive blockade on the Gaza Strip, characterized by the closure of border crossings and the prevention of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid from entering, in blatant violation of international humanitarian law. A deliberate starvation policy has been used as a weapon of war, alongside mass killings and the systematic destruction of essential civilian infrastructure, as part of the largest planned, open, and direct genocide targeting the Palestinian people. Since October 8, 2023, until today Wednesday 23/7/2025, the occupation authorities have continued carrying out these complex crimes in a deliberate and systematic manner, blatantly disregarding all international laws and norms, using starvation and thirst as tools of collective punishment and means to subjugate civilians, forcing them into displacement or slow death. Israeli officials have openly declared their intent to use starvation as a tool of war from the earliest days of the assault. On October 9, 2023, then Israeli War Minister Yoav Gallant said, “We are imposing a complete siege on Gaza. No electricity, no food, no water, no gas. Everything is closed. We are fighting human animals and we act accordingly.” This statement, made by the top military authority in the Israeli government, can only be understood as an explicit, official admission of criminal intent to use blockade and starvation as tools of genocide in the context of a comprehensive war targeting the Palestinian existence in the Gaza Strip. Over the course of the months-long assault, the occupation forces employed starvation as a method of gradual extermination. This was done through preventing food from entering, bombing sources of food, and targeting community kitchens and food relief centers. This led to a sharp escalation in famine levels and increasing deaths due to hunger, exhaustion, and malnutrition. Famine declaration criteria International
organizations follow clear criteria for declaring a famine, which
require three conditions: Indicators coming from the Gaza Strip suggest that these conditions have been met since early 2024, making the situation legally and humanly a documented famine. I. Background and context Since 2006, the Gaza Strip has been under a gradual Israeli blockade that crippled the economy and impoverished the population. Unemployment exceeded 45%, reaching 67% among youth and university graduates, with most families depending on aid to meet minimal needs. However, the aggression that began on October 7, 2023, marked a transition to an unprecedented level of deliberate destruction. Israel openly declared starvation as a weapon by closing crossings, blocking food supplies, and directly targeting warehouses, mills, bakeries, agricultural lands, markets, and even community kitchens. It also blocked access to the sea and fishing and directly targeted the health infrastructure that supports aid convoys and treats malnutrition patients. II. Stages of starvation
All crossings were closed, and no food, water, or fuel was allowed in. Water supply was cut, making thirst a component of the starvation policy. The population depended on small reserves, which quickly ran out amid total supply chain collapse.
Occupation forces began ground incursions, isolating northern and central Gaza from the south. Famine became evident in the isolated regions, especially northern Gaza.
Twenty aid trucks were allowed in through the Rafah crossing on October 21, covering only 5% of the need. During the November truce, most aid was directed to the south while the north remained without relief.
As the aggression resumed, famine deepened in the north. Residents began relying on tree leaves and animal feed, with documented deaths from hunger. The occupation forces deliberately bombed farms, bakeries, and any remaining food sources, even turning food relief centers into military targets.
In a symbolic attempt to deflect blame, occupation forces allowed flour trucks to reach collection points like Kuwait and Nabulsi roundabouts. These sites became massacre zones, as forces opened fire and shelled starving crowds. These massacres continued for months.
After the January 19, 2025 ceasefire, some aid was allowed in, though it never exceeded 30% of daily needs.
Occupation forces again sealed off all crossings, pushing the famine to unprecedented levels. Aid distribution massacres (May–July 2025) On May 27, 2025, Israel announced aid distribution through a newly created entity named the “Gaza Humanitarian Organization,” supervised by special forces and American mercenaries. These aid points became sites of mass killings. By July 19, 2025, these massacres had resulted in 1,021 martyrs and over 6,511 injured, mostly civilians waiting in bread queues. Occupation forces also intensified targeting of food relief centers and markets to eliminate any unofficial food sources. III. Statistics and indicators (As of July 2025)
